While working with John at NCDOT he encouraged me to join him teaching part-time at a junior college. I thought it was only extra part-time income, little did I realize that teaching accounting would make me a much better accountant. And years later I would need all the extra knowledge to accomplish projects assigned to me.
John’s impact on my career was immense.
Dear Susan. Long ago days with John and Al at Pullen seem not that long ago now. Happy memories. My love and sympathy to you and your family.
We wish to extend our sincere condolences to the family of our dear friend John. When thinking of John, there will always be a smile on his face. He brought that joy to everyone.
I have said it many times that I could not have been prouder to be John's friend. All the trips we got to take together, and all the time we spent on the phone talking about nothing have always been fantastic. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.
Your thoughtfully written obituary reminded me of John's lightness, high energy, and joy in living. I am sorry to hear of your loss and keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Please let me know when the celebration of life will be held. I would love to see you all again!
I am saddened to hear about your great loss. I am thinking about you and wish for for healing and peace.
